Rugby

December 2, 2023

She carried our conversation like Atlas
Her stalwart arms held our dialogue firmly
I was flustered by her rhinestone-wrapped biceps

A drop of sweat dripped down her neck
It slid across her skin and hung in mid air
Suspended above her chest like a jumbotron

My earth trembled as she cinched me into a hug
Her herculean hands pressed into my back
My soul felt sheltered so close to her heart

She released to leave and return to her game
She jogged off and I let out a sigh
Quietly charting the voyage back home to her arms
