Underneath a velvet sky
adorned with patient stars
I watch her gaze into my eyes
her soul alight with hope
She looks to me like I’m her sun
Or maybe she’s my moon
But when I ponder back at her
My heart remains unswooned
She points into the void above
with a fire in her heart
I try to spot the light she loves
but all I see is dark
