Running out of room
That’s what everyone’s doing these days
Cities swamp into the countryside
and people move boxes into empty rooms
to suffer untouched years
Ideas grow too big for one page or 30
and there’s always a line to interject
when it’s least convenient
So, we create lists
Of groceries we’ll never buy
Boxes we’ll never check
Movies we’ll never watch
and places we’ll never see
That’s not to say we’re not active
We cross plenty of things of plenty of lists
But we’re limited by the rule of abundance:
Enough plus more means you’ll probably throw up.
