A Big Fat Moon and an Infinite Thread

April 13, 2021

Every time I see her, she hands me a fresh dot
to add to my constellation
She sketches fresh lines on my heart
Brand-new happy places I know I’ve been before
She has me mirror-ridden
Staring at my eyes, my soul, and my body
Science-project stuck
Peeling layers of paint to research my history
Someday, I’ll write a biography
And she’ll return margins congested with edits
Her words will sound more myself than mine
Discovering me was never a solo mission
My sidekick knows where to sketch the lines.
